Beaver EMS is currently seeking qualified and enthusiastic paramedics to work on our emergency response services team on a casual basis. Beaver EMS is responsible for emergency medical services in Tofield, Viking, and other communities in and around Beaver County. Our service provides 3 full time ALS units, with two stationed in the town of Tofield and one in the town of Viking. Beaver EMS provides a competitive wage, comprehensive benefits, RRSP matching, and recertification of standard qualifications as required (ACLS, ITLS, CPR, PALS).

Hours of Work and Pay: Hours of work and pay are per the current CUPE collective agreement. Shifts are 24 hrs each on a core/flex model with three mandatory core hours. Wages are based on 12 regular hours/shift and 12 on call hours/shift. Regular hour wages vary from $29.82 - $39.26/hr based on experience.

Qualifications:

Actively registered with the Alberta College of Paramedics as an EMT-P

Current CPR, ACLS, PALS and ITLS certifications (current NRP is an asset)

Valid Class 4 Driver's Licence (current driver's abstract required prior to date of hire)

Current Criminal Record check, including vulnerable sector, required prior to date of hire

Required Skill Set:

Exercise positive interpersonal interaction with other team members and patients

Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills

Must be reliable, dependable and capable of working as part of a team

Possess the ability to provide and accept constructive feedback from management and other team members

Willing to participate in public education and continuing education activities
