EMT-P (flight)

Advanced Paramedic Ltd has positions for its private air ambulance program. The successful individual(s) will be on a casual call list, situated out of Edmonton. Our flight program completes long national and international missions, repatriations, medical escorts, and long distant ground transfers. Our staff cares for a wide variety of patients with the heaviest concentration in Bariatric, neurology, cardiology, and trauma. We desire individuals with a solid commitment to patient care, clinical excellence, professional development, and personal accountability.

The successful individuals will be placed on a call list and contacted when:

• A private flight is organized and EMT-P is required –
• Medical escorts on a commercial aircraft
• Long distant ground transfers.

Flights will typically be on a citation V jet, with a new bariatric door installed

Background Information: Advanced Paramedic Ltd. is based out of Peace River, AB and is an Alberta Health designated air EMS provider and an Industrial Emergency Medical Service provider to the oil, gas and natural resources industry. Additionally APL has a permanent base location situated at the City Center Airport in downtown Edmonton. This location serves a multifaceted role including provision of Air Ambulance Ground Support for all of the Inter-Provincial and International in and outbound flights. We also provide private, medevac ground support and long distance ground transfer throughout on a contract basis. With two full-time staffed King Air 200’s, our teams respond to approximately 1100 calls per year. . Our paramedics provide industrial, critical care ground and air transport services to scene and inter-facility transport requests. Medical direction is provided through off-line control and our highly specialized medical teams are relied upon to make challenging medical decisions.

Qualifications: The successful candidate must meet the following technical requirements;

• EMT-P registration with the Alberta College of Paramedics
• Current CPR, ACLS, BTLS / ITLS or PHTLS, PALS
• Valid Class 4 driver’s license
• Clean driver record and criminal record check
• Successful completion of pre-flight medical
• 2 years’ experience as a EMT-P
• Clean criminal record. / Drivers Abstract
• Experience managing critical care calls
• Must live in Edmonton or surrounding area
• Valid passport ( cannot be expiring within 6 months)
