The Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo is a rapidly growing community and has exciting and challenging career opportunities for EMT-Paramedics.

The Fort McMurray Fire Department will be accepting resumes for a number of intakes for Paramedics. Candidates will be contacted regarding the details of the testing and interview process, which will include a medical aptitude exam, physical fitness assessment, and a behavioral-based interview.

These Paramedics will not be required to attain NFPA 1001 qualifications, but will have the opportunity to train as Firefighters if they desire.

Qualifications:

• All individuals must be registered with the Alberta College Paramedics to legally practice in Alberta*
• High School Diploma or GED equivalency
• Valid Basic Cardiac Life Support (CPR) certification
• Valid Class Four (4) Alberta Driver’s license or equivalent out of province
• Provide a criminal record check with vulnerable sector check for review and acceptance

Salary Range: $45.95 per hour (Paramedic First Class) + 5% Education Pay = $48.25 per hour
